Sign Rules

Political Signs & flags

Texas law allows political yard signs in homeowners association from 90 days before the election to 10 days after the polls close. (Texas Property Code Sec 202.009) Ground mounted only.  Not over 2x2 feet, single or double sided.  No political signs may be affixed to a home, vegetation, or fence.   Limit of one sign per candidate per lot.    No handmade signs allowed.   

Political Flags must be pole mounted only.  Flag pole may be attached to house (no outbuildings) or in ground. Maximum flagsize 3x5 feet.  Political flag may not be affixed to a home (except on a flag pole), vegetation, gate or a fence. May be displayed from 90 days before the election to 10 days after the polls close. Limit one flag per candidate or issue per lot.

Yard Sale Signs

Yard sale signs may be posted on the front of the lot holding the yard sale.  A yard sale is allowed on any lot twice each year  for two days            each time provided that a permit has been issued by the City of Mission.    Signs may not be larger than 2x2 feet.     Signs may be handmade.  Signs may be posted on an in-the-ground yard stake not over 30 inches tall, one day in advance of the yard sale and must be removed upon the conclusion of the yard sale.  No signs may be attached to a lamp post, street sign pole, home, vegetation, or fence.   No flags, pennants or banners.

Personal Yard Signs 

The Board of Directors decided to inform all owners that so-called personal yard signs, including those stating "PRAY" etc., must be kept as close to the home as possible.  (board minutes 5/20/2021)  No handmade signs allowed. Signs must not exceed 2x2 feet and be mounted on an in-the-ground stake not over 30 inches in height.

Contractor Signs

Signs identifying contractors are allowed ONLY during the period in which work is being done and for a maximum of 7 days following completion of the job.  Architectural Committee may determine when job is completed for enforcement purposes. Contractor signs must not exceed 2 x 2 feet and may be double sided.  Maximum height is 36 inches from ground,  NO handmade signs allowed. Property owner, not contractor,  is responsible for compliance and removal of sign.

For Sale or For Rent Signs

a notice sign advising potential buyers or renters  that the home is located within Mission Manor, a 55+ community, must  be placed  along side    any for sale or for rent sign.  This notice sign will be provided by the Mission Manor Home Owners  Association.  For sale or for rent signs must not exceed 2 x 2 feet and may be double sided.  Maximum height is 36 inches from ground.
